The updated flight Simulator X from Dovetail games has just been released on steam and the game is already on sale available at an amazing 80 percent discount!
For those unaware, this is still the Microsoft flight Simulator X title, but in July last year Microsoft had licensed the rights to Dovetail games – the same development house responsible for the popular Train Simulator series. just a week back, Dovetail games had announced that an updated title is in the works which will be steam friendly, with consumers checking out December 18th as the release time.
The steam edition of flight Simulator X is packing not just the flight Simulator X: Deluxe edition but all the content available from all official expansions for the title. The new flight simulator as has been known before, is created for Windows 8.1, and packs over 20 aircrafts, 80 missions, 24,000 airports and of course, a new multiplayer mode courtesy of steam with the GameSpy service becoming obsolete.
Commenting on the game’s price at the time of its announcement, Dovetail did say that the title will be launched at a “spectacular introductory price”. Spectacular indeed, as for the next few hours at the time of writing this, the game is available for a mere $4.99 from Steam. If you missed this terrific opportunity, the price will hike to $12.49 and will remain so till the end of the steam holiday Sale that ends on 2nd of January. The game’s regular retail price is stated at $25, so the $12.49 deal is still half of what you may have to pay if you plan on grabbing it sometime later.
As a part of the steam holiday Sale, Dovetail is using a bunch of other titles at discounted prices, but only two new titles including the flight Simulator X: steam edition are on sale. The second title, being the Train Simulator 2015 with additional maps available at $26.79, a good 33% off on the full price.
The flight Simulator title has been receiving a poor consumer action for quite some time, but fans of the genre remain loyal, but it will be interesting to see if this new multiplayer support from steam helps resurrect the game amongst a lot more than just devoted fans, something which it genuinely needs to survive in the long run.
