That’s all thanks to XDA Senior Member sirdoha, who spent “consecutive sleepless nights porting, testing and perfecting” this port. The developer has made the port available in three “editions” that are as follows:

Universal Edition: works with all Android devices except Xperia devices running on the stock Sony firmware or stock-based ROMs.

Sony Edition: A special edition for Sony Xperia devices running the stock Sony firmware or ROMs based on it.

Magisk Edition: universal edition as a Magisk module for systemless installation.

It’s not without its flaws

Since this is a port and not an official one, it isn’t unexpected to see it is not perfect. For now, each time you reboot your phone, you’ll need to play music on the Sony music app, lock your phone and wait for 5 seconds. When you unlock your phone the port will be activated. keep in mind this needs to be done at every boot and is not just a one-time thing.

Requirements

How To install Sony Xperia XZ2 sound System – Universal/Sony Edition

Download the universal or the Sony edition zip files from any of the download links offered above. Make sure you download the suitable version for your device.

Transfer the downloaded file to your Android device if you didn’t download the file directly onto your device.

Reboot your device into recovery mode. depending upon the make and build of your Android device the hardware essential combination can be different so you’ll have to google that for your particular device.

When in TWRP recovery, select Install, and then select the downloaded zip file. Swipe at the bottom to flash it.

Tap on the Reboot system button that appears at the bottom once the flashing is done.

How To install Sony Xperia XZ2 sound System – Magisk Edition

Download the Magisk edition file from the Downloads section above.

Launch Magisk manager on your phone.

From the side menu drawer, navigate to the modules section.

Tap on the floating + button at the bottom.

Select the downloaded Magisk edition Xperia XZ2 sound System port. The file will be installed as soon as you select it.

Tap on Reboot when the installation is complete.
